72 saga continues

Me n Rob have been gettin to work on the Colarado 72. Hes got the rest of the bus polished and the seats cleaned up n lookin fresh to death!

The slamwerks beam has arrived and its itching to be fitted!

We also spent some time rebuilding the carb and gettin the engine ready to fire, after the rebuild and a set of points later she fired up like a dream after being stood from 1994! 16 years and its still got some guts!

So me and Ben both rolled our cars out to skeggy this weekend. Fun had all round, apart from smashing every cats eye down the A52 whilst overtaking idiots on pushbikes and slow lorrys haha. Ben's karman and my marathon both picked up top 5 awards in the visitors choice catagory of the show. Bens not faild to recieve an award yet this year but this was my first ever so im pretty stoked to say the least.

Im sure Sam spent like £25 on these stupid grabber machines and still managed to walk away with nothing but a lighter wallet.

Ive also picked up some 125/15 firestones recently for the marathon too, ive given them the clean up and there lookin smashin!

I worked on Sam's 66 yesterday, got rid of that "fatboy" exhaust n fitted one that exits out of the standard cut outs, looks times better. Also did some well needed break adjusting and bleeding.

Not updated in a while but heres some goodies to feast you goggle boxes on!

Me, Sam, Steady and Tom T hit up the Volksworld show last weekend. It was awesome to meet up with old and new friends and have a real good time, so cheers for that guys! Stunners everywhere this year too! Here are a few i snapped.

Ben's Ghia has turned out to be a stunner! looked fantastic under the lights and it even picked up a Top 20 award! Proud its a DNV car! WELL DONE BEN!

Oli's 57 looked off the wall! This thing has some killer stance!

Lastweek Me and Sam Took a drive over to the Lake District to pick up his new ride! It's a 66 in awesome condition, some of you older boys may remember it from back in t' day when it was built by Biaggio and was one of the restocal pioneers. It looks a lil different now but it will soon be back to its resto roots!

After he picked it up we went and brought my marathon out of storage and took them both on a good old cruise, it was fantastic!

At work recently i've been building and detailing this big 1996cc motor for a customer, its turned out real well and looks a treat if i do say so myself.

There has been some heavy partying as of recent too. Stu knows how to pass out in the best of places! Hotel hallways with securtiy looking down on him in true DNV style!

Apparantly i know how to handle the sleeping in strange places situation too....

Tommy T also took the trip over to Ninove with the Slamwerks crew, it looks and sounds like they all had an epic time over there, gutted i missed out! Here are some photos of his travels.

So it has been way too long again since i botherd to blog so heres a little one just with a few photos of what i have been getting upto lately then hopefully starting this week i will be back on the resto of my 65 as im missing crusing about in it WAYYY too much and the sunshine this week has got me all hyped up!!!

first off i would like to thank my mate jay for sorting us out with this badass script which will hopefully be on some t-shirts and stickers soon! everyone should go check out his tattoo work! CLICK HERE!!!A while ago i took a trip over to see the guys at Slamwerks in derby they have some real cool stuff in at the moment and i got a chance to check out Guys bay which is awesome! sits real nice with good ground clearence and the nicest front tubs ive seen FO SHO!

And obviously only the best health foods help me stay in shap on my bike ride to Slamwerks of course :)

The next stop was Brighton tattoo convention with some of my friends, was a good weekend with alot of good artist to check out and as always just enjoyed chilling out in brighton with a good group of people!!!
there was some cool cars that rocked up to the convention too
and this citroen H van which was selling the best tacos!
My dad told me he had seen a split screen on a farm when he was driving by so with in a flash i was over to check it out the thing was NAILED!!! but still kinda cool to see and pretty complete considering the state it was in!
Horimomo came over from japan for a week to tattoo in Leeds and I was lucky enough to get and appointment and have my first tattoo by hand! check out his work HERE caught up with my friend rob after not seeing him for way to long and got some burgers from the old angel inn in Nottingham they were off the wall to say the least!

Next stop was a little trip to Berlin and i was not expecting it to be so cold!
Aparently there are still dead russian soldiers inside these tanks! crazy shit!
spent most nights eating and drinking in White Trash it was awesome and a stein of coke was the bomb!!!
On the last day we went to this huge building and you couldnt see for graffiti it was cool we walked around it for ages had people painting and selling stuff in there too was awesome!
and finally back in the U.K i met up with big tom and steady at bug freeze had a good day catching up with them and was nice to see what was going down there
my song of the week has to be this! been in my head since big t showed it me!

Firstly im gonna start of by saying Ben's karman is comming along very nice a will soon be back on the road and tearing up the shows this season!

At work this week ive been working on this nice split with porsche nipples and a subtle lowing job. hummmmmm tasty!

Had the motor out for a re-seal to cure various moster oil leaks and i also gave it a freshen up with a coat of paint n some cleaning.

Last week Tommy T decided to call it quits at avw, where me and him both worked. Good luck with the new job bro!

Sun sets have been good recently around work..... long hours huh?

was nice to have some time away from vws this christmas!
this was my first attempt at learning to use a lathe! not bad if i do say so :)

also this holiday i fell victim to the cult of fixed gear bikes!!! got myself an old beat up raleigh frame and forks and all the other bits i need to pedal myself to death!

but now its time to go back to work and battle against super cold workshop temperatures ha,

So we ended up pulling so much filler out of the rear quarter of the 58 that we ended up replacing the lower quarter. turned out well and looks good with a light skim and a paint but i didn't get any pics of that.. doh!

All the rest of the rust repair has been completed and also looks to a very high standard and look factory fresh with a lick of paint

Tommy t got his clean up on!

This weekend has also been an epic weekend on the partying front but ill get some pics of that up later on this week when they finally emerge out of the woodwork!

So........ i got a phone call from 1989.. they want there car back!

Recently at work I've been sinking my teeth into this 58, its a right rot box that's had more bad work than David Gest. This rigs gettin straightened out good n proper this time round!

Tommy T has been replacing a whole arch on bills bay. Restored 2years ago, kept in a carkoon used less than 10times a year and only in good weather, cleaned after use but...... a bodged resto has lead to paint bubbling due to seams full of body filler and patch panels schultz'd over. Were here to fix it!

A few of us also took a road trip down south to fetch Robs new "parts pig" hes using it for rust free genuine panels and hard to find chrome trim for the more whore. This baby was picked up for next to nothing!

Parked in a hedge for god knows how long and covered from tyres to roof in moss and grime!

But after a quick jet was at a petrol station it quickly appeared to us that we have just picked up the bargain of the century! Damn this pig cleans up good!

So whilst big tom has been away enjoying the egyptian sunshine and free beers some of us had to work! luckily for me a had a good job in !

i lowerd nicks van last winter and put adjustable spring plates on it but scince then he has been fiddling with them and decided he wanted to go lower but his driveshafts were hitting on his chassis so went for some chassis notches and a few clicks down on the beam with a little trim on that aswell!

this is the van when it was first done last year im glad he went lower!

also replaced the rear hub oil seals on this split and did all the brakes to pass its m.o.t.

a few of us hit up stu's flat on sunday for some HD american football action and hotrod
was a rad night and i ate way too much! good stuff!!!
early sunday morning i went over to check out the first bus freeze, there seemed to be quite a good turn out for a first show! not enough bugs there but hey it was bus freeze i guess haha also there needs to be more nice shiny busses!

So, some good news came in recently! Ben has his Karman Ghia back! its been away at the body shop for over 20months now because of an insurance claim after a crash! but its now looking sweet as a nut and I'm sure its going to be a corker!

Here it is just after he crashed it on the way back from BVF 08 where he won best modified!

I also headed into the workshop this Saturday to practice some welding skills. Got a little carried away and made a mini version of a front beam. its a little twisted, should of jigged it haha

Me and tom also headed to rock city in Nottingham last night to watch alexisonfire and a few other bands. Was real impressed by ghost of a thousand! it was a good night apart from the expensive bad tasting beer! Good to catch up with old friends and make some new one too!
